Kathleen Harm - Biography

Art Inspired by Nature

Like many artists, I began painting as a child and continued to paint and draw through college where I pursued a Fine Arts degree.  Life had different plans though! and after years spent raising a beautiful family and a rewarding career in the renewables and energy efficiency industry, I retired in 2021 and decided it was time to start painting again.   Rediscovering this passion has given me a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude with a wonderful sense of joy and accomplishment.

I am primarily a landscape artist painting in oils from personal photos I have taken.  My husband and I live in Vermont and spend several months of the year on the coastal islands off Georgia.  The inspiration for my paintings is in Nature everywhere, from my backyard on Lake Champlain and New England to the southeast coast and breathtaking vistas of Europe from our travels.   There is great joy in sharing my works with others and deep appreciation for being able to do so.  I am a member of the South End Arts & Business Association (SEABA) and the S.P.A.C.E. Gallery located in Burlington, Vermont as well as the Jekyll Island Arts Association/ Goodyear Cottage located on Jekyll Island and Glynn County Visual Arts (GVA) located on St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island, Georgia.  My artwork is available for purchase directly online and in the gallery locations above.

When I am not painting or playing piano, I am an avid swimmer, cyclist, hiker and skier.  My husband and I share five adult children and seven grandchildren between us who we love to spend time with here in our beautiful Vermont.

I hope you enjoy my paintings and find your love of nature in them.  Thank you for subscribing and I look forward to hearing from you.
